This complete renovation of a charming older home in the heart of Burnaby is set to become the new Premier Montessori Academy, a leading early childhood education centre. Rely Construction collaborated closely with BC Building Science to engineer an advanced building envelope upgrade, enhancing energy efficiency, moisture control, and long-term durability.

Designed by Pacific West Architecture, the renovation preserves the character of the original home while integrating modern systems and safety features essential for a learning environment. Structural reinforcements were made where necessary to meet current building codes. New plumbing, HVAC, electrical were installed to support the facility’s operational needs and ensure comfort and safety for children and staff.

Inside, custom millwork and durable, non-toxic flooring create a warm, functional space ideal for Montessori pedagogy and active learning. Outdoor play areas were also enhanced with safe, accessible landscaping and new staff parking facilities to support daily operations.
