In 2025, Rely Construction completed a full interior transformation of Unit 1830 at 4720 McClelland Road, bringing to life the new Yummy BBQ restaurant in one of Richmond’s busiest commercial hubs. What began as a vacant commercial space was reimagined into a welcoming and highly functional restaurant environment, designed to meet the operational needs of both dine-in and takeout service.

Our team managed every phase of the project, starting with a full interior demolition that cleared the way for a brand-new layout. Working from health-approved architectural plans prepared by Sanny Chan Design Group Ltd., we carried out a comprehensive tenant improvement that included structural adjustments, the construction of new walls and bulkheads, and code-compliant fire-rated separations. Throughout the process, we coordinated closely with city inspectors and Vancouver Coastal Health to ensure all aspects of the build met strict commercial and food-service regulations.

The interior was designed to accommodate an open dining area, commercial kitchen, food prep stations, and customer washroom—all tied together with upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Specialized rough-ins were installed to support kitchen equipment, including ventilation for the commercial hood fan and back-of-house infrastructure for multiple sinks and fixtures. Final touches included new flooring, contemporary lighting, and durable finishes that reflect the restaurant’s modern identity while supporting the rigors of daily service.

Delivered on a tight schedule, the completed space balances functionality with comfort—offering Yummy BBQ a fresh, code-compliant restaurant ready to serve the Richmond community for years to come.
